In 2019, the Canadian Section once again sponsored the International College of Dentists Student Awards, now in the 63rd year. The award was first offered in 1956, with an award of $100 to one student in each of the five Faculties of Dentistry in Canada, it was later increased to $1000 and is now a $2000 scholarship.  The award along with a framed plaque certificate is given to a third-year student from each of the ten Canadian Dental Schools.  The scholarships are now funded by the support of the Quikcard Charitable Foundation, Edmonton, Alberta.  This funding for five years is provided with the support of Fellow Lyle Best of Edmonton and Quikcard Charitable Foundation Chair, Dr. Luc Dugal of Calgary.
